Issue/Introduction

The file u_fmat60.dta of some nodes declared in a UVMS Subordinate grows very rapidly (up to 1GB per day) due to abnormal node updates from other nodes declared in other UVMS Subordinates.

The universe.log of the nodes contain the same kind of message "Partial sync of xxx nodes" every X minutes (X depends on the Master to Subordinate synchronization period):

| 2024-08-20 12:03:12 |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| io_sync_node| Partial sync: 1349 node updates received
| 2024-08-20 12:33:14 |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| io_sync_node| Partial sync: 1349 node updates received
| 2024-08-20 13:03:16 |INFO |X|IO |pid=p.t| io_sync_node| Partial sync: 1349 node updates received

Nevertheless, this is abnormal as there has been no update at all in the Nodes declared on the different UVMS.

The following kind of line appears once per node to be updated every 30 minutes, which can cause the u_fmat60.dta to have more than 51000 new lines added per day:

NODENAME,06/08/2023 22:39:15,Node,[NODENAME2],Update,Internal Sync User,,,,

Environment

UVMS Master / Subordinate 6.x or 7.x with nodes declared on the Subordinates.

Cause

Defect DE123539

Resolution

Workaround:

Modify the UVMS Node Settings in the Subordinates to increase to 24h the data sync and 4h the partial sync so that the partial sync on the nodes is performed only once per day:

DUAS v6 to UVMS synchronization cycle (seconds)  -> set to 14400
DUAS v6 to UVMS data synchronization cycle (seconds)  -> set to 86400

Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.

Fix version(s):
Component: Application Server (Node)
Dollar Universe 7.01.11 - Planned to be released October 2025

Additional Information

Solution Details: on the Dollar Universe node, the audit trail of a synchronized node update will not be written if nothing has changed.
