Issue/Introduction

Upon enabling and configuring an exception policy for specific extensions for SPSS in the SPE console, you observed that certain files within the specified extension list are still being blocked, displaying the following error message:

Sorry, something went wrong
The virus scanner is encountering an error in scanning the file.

Environment

SPSS 6.1.x

Cause

When enabling the exception policy, the size threshold-based exclusion value is set to the default of 134217728 bytes. In some cases, if a file within SharePoint exceeds this limit, the SPE scanner may block it.

Resolution

You have the option to adjust the size threshold-based exclusion value either by setting it according to the specific file size causing the issue or by modifying it based on the typical file sizes within your environment.

The supported value range for this setting is between 0 and 2147000000 bytes, allowing you to configure it according to your requirements for optimal performance and compatibility.
