Issue/Introduction

Would like to confirm which system GETVIS (above or below 16MB) is utilized for the following Broadcom Mainframe Products:

  • Top Secret - VSE
  • Explore Performance Management for z/VSE
  • Dynam for VSE
  • Raps VSE
  • FAQS VM

For example Top Secret transactions TASKDATALoc parameter is defined as BELOW and uses the system GETVIS BELOW. 

Can this be changed to use GETVIS ABOVE.

Resolution

Broadcom Mainframe Products Explore, Dynam, Raps, Faqs, & TSS utilize some GETVIS above the line. However, not all components utilize above the line GETVIS. In future releases we hope to enhance the products to utilize more above the line GETVIS.

There is no command or feature option that allows a user to select the location of GETVIS.

No option like GETVIS=ABOVE currently exists. The internal dynamic functions utilize GETVIS at different times/functions above the line.
