Issue/Introduction

  • vCLS virtual machine does not automatically generated even after entering retreat mode and exiting retreat mode
  • vCenter EAM log does not show obvious error during changing retreat mode period
  • vCenter WCP log does not have recent log entry
  • When checked WCP(Workload Control Plane) service from VAMI interface, it is not started

Environment

vCenter 7.0

Cause

The health of vCLS VMs, including power state, is managed by EAM and WCP services. If WCP service is not started then vCLS virtual machine can not be generated.

Resolution

Start vCenter WCP service from vCenter VAMI interface
