VM Shows No Snapshots in Snapshot Manager With VMDKs Showing as 0 MB in Size

Issue/Introduction

A snapshot is in place on a virtual machine, and the following symptoms are seen in the vSphere UI:

• The Manage Snapshots dialog shows no snapshots
• The Consolidate menuy entry is grayed out
• The Settings page for the VM shows all VMDKs as 0 MB in size
• The VM is otherwise operating normally and there are no other errors
• The ESXi host reports proper snapshot status and disk sizes for the VM

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Resolution

vMotion/migrate the VM to another host.  This will force an object inventory refresh of the affected VM.

Additional Information
