Multiple NSX DFW IPFIX rules displayed in ESXi firewall outgoing rules

Issue/Introduction

• NSX DFW IPFIX has been enabled in VMware Aria Operations for Networks.
• ESXi firewall outgoing rules display multiple DFW IP FIX, such as 'dfwipfix0' and 'dfwipfix02'.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x
VMware NSX 4.x
VMware Aria Operations for Networks

Cause

• NSX DFW IPFIX profile is dynamically created whenever the DFW IPFIX feature is enabled.
• Depending on the iteration of configuration and unconfiguration, VMware Aria Operations for Networks increments the instance ID.

Resolution

This behavior is expected and functions as designed.
