Issue/Introduction

I have created a monitoring profile for SQL Server (Enhanced) using MCS (Monitoring Configuration Services) in Operator Console for a group of servers.

The database password has changed for the connection that underlies this profile.

How can I update the password in MCS?

I tried opening the probe GUI in Infrastructure Manager to change it there, but the password appears blank.

Environment

DX UIM - Any Version
MCS (Monitoring Configuration Services) profiles
sqlserver probe (any version)

Resolution

  1. Click on the Group where the profile is defined and go to the Monitoring Config tab.
  2. Click the profile for the SQL probe- NOT the "Setup SQL Server" probe but the monitoring profile itself.
  3. This opens a screen that says "Custom Check Point (Enhanced)" - from here, click on the pencil icon to edit the profile.

This will open the actual profile where you can change the associated credentials.
