Issue/Introduction

  • The original service mesh was deleted.
  • No other service meshes or HCX appliances exist.
  • Only the HCX managers remain.
  • All HCX managers appear to be healthy.
  • The current service mesh appears to be healthy.
  • When attempting to create a new service mesh, the inventory of the peer site does not populate.
  • The remote site compute profile cannot be chosen, therefore the creation of the service mesh is halted.
  • No graphical indications or logs reveal any issues or error messages.

Environment

Resolution

  • Ensure connectivity between HCX Managers and vCenter Servers.
  • Test port connectivity from HCX manager with "nc -vz <Peer HCX Manager IP Address> [443|902|80]"  to ensure the requiired ports are open in any firewall
  • Reboot the managers to ensure they are in a ready state.
  • If the above steps to do not resolve the issue and the creation of a new service mesh fails:
    • Delete the current HCX pairing
    • Initiate a new pairing
    • Create the new service mesh
