Unable to start Workstation with Error Application Blocked by Java Security

Issue/Introduction

Java with high security setting is preventing APM Workstation from starting due to certs for jar files use by the Workstation expired on Jan. 23 2025

with the following message

Your security settings have blocked an application signed with an expired or not-yet-valid certificate from running

 

Environment

APM 10.8

Resolution

The jar files will be updated in the next APM 10.8 Service Pack or HF 8. 

Workarounds :

1) Add an exception for the APM URL in the Java Console as below

2) OpenWebStart to open the workstation.
