VMware vCenter Server VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x

Issue/Introduction

Upgraded the VCF Cluster from version 5.1.1 to 5.2.0 and upgraded vCenter from 8.0.u2d to 8.0.u3d

Created offline snapshots of the vCenter server before the upgrade; once the upgrade was completed, the previous snapshot was removed from the server.

The VM task logs showed no snapshot removal or creation.

A new vCenter server VM is deployed

Environment

8.0.u3d

Cause

Reduced Downtime Upgrade (RDU) support for vCenter: VCF users can now leverage vCenter Reduced Downtime Upgrade (RDU) to execute a vCenter upgrade. vCenter RDU is a migration-based approach to upgrading vCenter and reduces the vCenter downtime to less than 5 minutes.
