Issue/Introduction

The "vCenter Appliance Availability" Dashboard is not auto-populating the "Service in Selected vCenter" widget when the object name is selected in the "vCenter Appliance" widget.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Resolution

If the vCenter adapter instance is using the local administrator as credentials, please check if the vCenter Service Lifecycle Manager API service is running as this is a requirement for this dashboard to work.

To start the vCenter Service Lifecycle Manager API service:

  1. Log into the management interface of your vCenter appliance. See: Manage vCenter Server Using the Management Interface
  2. Select Services from the menu on the left and select the VMware Service Lifecycle Manager API service by clicking the circle next to the name.
  3. Click Start if not already started and click Set Startup Type to set the startup to Automatic.

Refer to Permissions Required to Discover vCenter Services if you are not using the local vCenter administrator account for your vCenter adapter user.

Additional Information

Refer to Monitoring vCenter Services for more information on monitoring vCenter services.
