Issue/Introduction

When attempting to add Skyline Health Diagnostics (SHD) into your vCenter client you get the following error and will not let you add your SHD instance. "Another SHD Instance (<IP>) is already registered on vCenter Server: <IP>"

Environment

Skyline Health Diagnostics (SHD)

Cause

This is caused because an old SHD instance was added to the vCenter and the extension still exists.

Resolution

On the below hyperlink:

• <vCenterServerIP>mob/?moid=ExtensionManager&method=unregisterExtension
• In the extensionKey value enter com.vmware.vhd.management.plugin 
• Invoke method.

 

This will remove the already existing SHD plugin registered on vCenter.

Then you can deploy your new SHD plugin on the vCenter
