Image Pullback errors observed in environment

Issue/Introduction

You may encounter image pull failures with error messages similar to the following:

• Failed to pull image: rpc error: code = NotFound desc = failed to pull and unpack image: failed to resolve reference: not found.
• Failed to pull image: rpc error: code = NotFound desc = failed to copy: httpReadSeeker: failed open: could not fetch content descriptor from remote: not found.
• Could not resolve package dependency.  
  Could not parse POM file from the repository.

Environment

All versions of NAPP 4.x

Cause

This error usually indicates an issue on the registry or server side, such as:

• The registry is temporarily down.
• Network connectivity issues between the node and the registry.
• The requested content is unavailable or cannot be served.

Resolution

Ensure that all necessary firewall rules are updated, allowing access to public container image repositories from internet-restricted environments. The following domains should be whitelisted:

• projects.registry.vmware.com
• projects.packages.broadcom.com
• jfrog-prod-usw2-shared-oregon-main.s3.amazonaws.com

If firewall rules are configured correctly and the issue persists, contact Broadcom Support for further assistance.
