"Bad request please verify the request parameters or credentials" error when validating the connection of a VCF adapter using SDDC Manager credentials in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

• When validating the connection to verify the SDDC Manager credentials on a previously working or new Vmware Cloud Foundation (VCF) adapter you receive a warning similar to:
  • "Bad request please verify the request parameters or credentials" displayed in the UI after selecting Validate Connection.
• Both the vcfadapter.log and the collector.log in Aria Operations contain the same error.
• In SDDC Manager the /var/lg/vmware/vcf/vcf-commonsvcs.log displays errors similar to:
  • CLIENT_IP_BLOCKED Client IP is blocked.

 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x
SDDC Manager 5.2.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2

Cause

• The Aria Operations node IP is blocked in SDDC Manager due to 10 failed login attempts.

Resolution

• Verify the credentials being used in the VCF adapter are correct and you can log in directly to SDDC Manager with the same credentials.
• Follow this article if you have the CLIENT_IP_BLOCKED error in /var/lg/vmware/vcf/vcf-commonsvcs.log in SDDC Manager
