Issue/Introduction

  • Unable to delete a VM in Unresolved state
  • You get the following error:
    • ERROR: update or delete on table "allocated_ip_address" violates foreign key constraint "fk_networ_interf2allo_ip_addr" on table "network_interface"
  • VM does not show any NIC in VCD UI

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5

Cause

This is because there are stale NIC entries associated with Allocated IP Addresses in the database for the VM

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires modification of the Cloud Director database.
