Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Upgrade VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations Manager) failed from 8.10.x.
  
  
• Upgrade failed at the 6 of 14 stage in new_validation.
  
  
• Upgrade VMware Aria Operations results in an error message being displayed in the UI:
  
  Failed The PAK action "new_validate" script "source ./pack_python_wrapper.sh validate py" failed
  
  
  
  

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

• Pre-check validate check fails on admin account  (admin_account_locked.failed.description)
  
  
• The /storage/vcops/log/pakManager/PAK_name/new_validate_stderr.log shows error similar to:
  
  DEBUG - stdout: "Login           Failures Latest failure     From
  admin               4    01/01/25    11:00:00
  ERROR - [{'key': 'admin_account_locked.failed.description'}]
  ERROR - admin_account_check failed, update the exit code

Resolution

Reset admin account and re-run upgrade.
