Server backlog issues with App Control version 8.10.4 and 8.11.0

Issue/Introduction

• App Control Server 8.10.4 and 8.11.0 could see a growing server-side backlog
• The Server-backlog Health Indicator triggers an alert

Environment

• App Control Server: 8.10.4 and 8.11.0
• Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

• App Control Server 8.10.4 and 8.11.0 are designed to do regular inserts that require table locks to process the changes
• This locking happens so frequently that it stops the backlog progressing on the server

Resolution

Upgrade to Server 8.11.2 and upgrade the Rules Installer to version 1.30

Additional Information

If an upgrade is not immediately possible, open a case with Support and request the hotfix for EPCB-22484.
