When restarting a vCenter virtual machine, the message "Failed unmouting /storage/log" is displayed in the remote console for sometime

Issue/Introduction

vCenter VM's remote console will display a "Failed unmouting /storage/log" message when a reboot or shutdown is triggered.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

The delay in services stopping is causing a slight delay in the unmount operation, thereby the unmount failure warning is seen on the remote console of the vCenter VM.

Resolution

Broadcom engineering is currently debugging the issue and there is no resolution at the moment.

However, this is not a functional issue and does not cause any impact to the vCenter server's operations.
