Issue/Introduction

When attempting to download a backup file from the SMG web interface, the following error is displayed:

SMG 10.8 10.9

Resolution

Step 1: Enable the Support Account

  1. Use an SSH client (e.g., PuTTY) to connect to the SMG server.
  2. Run the following command to enable the support account:
    set-support
    
     

Step 2: Transfer the Backup File Manually

  1. Open WinSCP and connect to the appliance using the support account.
  2. Navigate to:
    /data/backup
  3. Locate and transfer the required backup file to your local machine.
