Unable to add datastore in Storage Profile or existing links from datastores to profiles get deleted in Aria Automation

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The UI reports errors similar to:
  "Timeout in remote operation after 80 seconds. Operation PATCH..."
  
  
• The provisioning-service app logs show entries similar to:
  [ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "uq_storage_profile_association_state_storage_item_id_storage_de"...
  
  
• Deployment operations may get the following error:
  No matching placement. Error: No storage profiles are matching the disk requirements.
  
  
  
• Issue can also be encountered by doing the following:
  
  • Log in to the Aria Automation Portal
  • Access Service Broker
  • Navigate to Infrastructure >sd Configure > Storage Profiles.
  • Click the desired Storage Profile.
  • Select the "Datastores" tab.
    • 
  • Below "All datastores listed will be used by this storage profile in the order of priority provided.",change the dropdown menu to "Manually select datastores / clusters".
  • Click "Add +":
    • 
  • Select your desired Datastore or Cluster.
  • Click "Add".
  • You will be returned to the Storage Profile with your desired datastores added.
  • Save which should now become active to allow you to apply the changes.
  • If the datastores were previously added, removed and re-added, then save will turn gray and will run indefinitely in the UI:

• Aria Automation 8.18.1 Patch/Cumulative Upgrade #1
• Aria Automation 8.18.1 Patch/Cumulative Upgrade #2

Cause

• This can be caused by temporary datastore unavailability due to infrastructure issues.

Resolution

• This is a known issue which is fixed in the VCF 9 release, and in Cumulative Patch 3 for Aria Automation 8.18.1.
