"Status of other host hardware objects" alarm on ESXi

Issue/Introduction

• ESXi host summary tab reflects the alarm 'Status of other host hardware objects'

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi Host

Cause

Unacknowledged Old Hardware Alert or Underlying Hardware Issue

Resolution

• Check the Alerts and Warnings in the Hardware Health:
  • Navigate to the Host Monitor Tab and Select Hardware Health
  • Select Alerts and Warnings to see current issues
• Validate for Underlying Hardware Issues
  • If the alert triggers again, recommend checking for any potential underlying hardware issues.
    
    
• Reset the Alert to "Green":
  • Navigate to the Host Monitor Tab and Select Triggered Alarm
  • Select the alert and Click reset it to "Green and monitor the Host to see if the alert reoccurs.
    
    
• If the issue Persists:
  • If the issue continues even after the above steps, contact Broadcom support by raising a support case.
    
    
• Upgrade Hardware/Firmware (if necessary):
  • If no hardware issues are found, consider upgrading the hardware/firmware of the host to determine if the alert persists.
  • Ensure to reset the alert to green and continue monitoring the host after performing the upgrade.
