VMware NSX VMware vSphere ESX 7.x

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading ESX host from 6.7. to 7.0.3qsexx-v, NSX 6.4.x is stuck "progressing" the ESX host in the NSX-V cluster.

Error: UserVars.RmqHostId' is invalid or exceeds the maximum number of characters permitted.

Unable to locate any reference to that error

We rebooted each host stuck in progress and that work

Environment

ESX 6.7
ESX 7.0u3q
NSX-V 6.4.x

Cause

The cause is related to VIB esx-nsxv_6.7.0-0.0.14762108
Removing the VIB is necessary to complete the ESX host upgrade from 6.7 to 7.0u3q
A reboot of the host was not performed

NSX-V will attempt to install the current version of the NSX-V VIB and become stuck

Resolution

For each ESX host where an NSX-V VIB is removed, a reboot of the host is necessary
After the reboot, go back into NSX and click Resolve Host.
