Issue/Introduction

When creating a project from a template and converted from an idea, where the template project has a cost plan with no details, the copied project's cost plan dates may be different than the project's Financial Plan Start and Finish Dates.

Steps to Reproduce:

In MUX

  1. Create an idea with Start Date Jan 1, 2024 Finish Date Dec 31, 2024
    • Create a cost plan (header only no detail rows) with Start Period: Jan 2024, End Period: Dec 2024.
  2. Create a project template with the start date: Jan 1, 2023 and finish date Dec. 31, 2023
  3. Create a cost plan on this project with just the header, no detail rows
    • The cost plan start: Jan 2023, Finish Dec 2023
  4. Submit, approve, convert the idea you created in Step 1
    • Use the template created in Step 2
    • Make the Start and finish be Jan 1, 2024 – Dec 31,2024
    • Leave the Copy Options checked
  5. Create the Project

Expected Results:  The new project's cost plan dates match the Project Cost Plan dates shown on the project grid as well as in Classic Clarity Financial Summary page Planned Cost Start and Planned Cost Finish.

Actual Results:  The Project's Planned Cost Dates show the 2023 dates which are on the Project Template.  Note that the actual cost plan dates are correct (2024 dates)

Environment

Clarity 16.2.1, 16.2.2, 16,2,3

This is not reproducible in 16.3

Resolution

If the plan dates are of out sync, a change needs to be made to the cost plan to update the incorrect fields.

The easiest way to do this is to use the description field on the cost plan.  Updating that field will sync up the dates.
