Issue/Introduction

  • In a rare scenario, when VCF Operations Networks and VCF Operations Logs are deployed simultaneously, one of the deployments fails while attempting to push capabilities.
  • This issue occurs because in a very narrow time interval the product is not present in the inventory.
  • The Service Account creation flows are skipped because the other product is not in inventory.
  • But when the Capabilities push flows are executed, the other product is saved in the Inventory and hence the request fails because the service accounts are not created.

Environment

  • VCF Operations 9.0
  • VCF Fleet Management 9.0
  • VCF Operations Networks 9.0
  • VCF Operations Logs 9.0

Resolution

If the VCF Operations Logs deployment fails while the VCF Operations Networks deployment succeeds, follow these steps:

  1. Delete the failed VCF Operations Logs deployment from the Components Page.
    • The associated VMs will remain intact in vCenter.
  2. In Fleet Management, add the VCF Operations Logs component by selecting the Import option
    • Provide the details of the deployed VMs to complete the process.
