Issue/Introduction

When integrating vCenters with Aria Operations, vCenters are displaying their certificates under the Diagnostics > Certificates page.

Environment

Aria Operations: 8.18.x

Cause

The issue occurs because the integration account does not have sufficient privileges to retrieve the vCenter certificates when permissions are applied only at the vCenter level.  Permissions at the Global level are required for the integration account to access and display certificates in Aria Operations. Without the necessary privileges, the integration account cannot retrieve certificate information, leading to the issue observed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the integrated account at vCenter needs to be granted Global Permissions rather than being limited to the vCenter level. This will ensure that the necessary privileges for retrieving the vCenter certificate are available, and the certificates will be displayed correctly in Aria Operations.

Additional Information

The Global Permissions level grants sufficient privileges across the entire vCenter environment, which is necessary for Aria Operations to retrieve certificates.
Permissions configured only at the vCenter level may restrict the integrated account from accessing the required certificate information, leading to the observed behavior.
