Defined NSX Overlay is not presented when deploying NSX Edge Cluster in SDDC

Issue/Introduction

Overlay & VLAN Transport zones have been defined in NSX & set to Default

When attempting to deploy an NSX EDGE cluster in SDDC the transport zones are not presented in SDDC and you are unable to change these after deployment in NSX.

Environment

SDDC Manager 5.x
NSX 4.x

Cause

Missing tags from Default NSX Overlay Transport Zone

Resolution

1. Record the Tags associated with the Overlay transport zone that is being presented to SDDC

2. Edit the required Overlay Transport Zone to define the same Tags previously recorded (These are case sensitive) 

• From the NSX Manager UI

          Navigate:  System -> Fabric -> Transport Zones
          Edit “nsx-overlay-transportzone”
          Add two Tags:
         Tag: VCF Scope: Created by
         Tag: vcf Scope: vcf-orchestration
         Click SAVE

 

3. Set the transport zones to Default is not already done

4. Deploy the NSX Edge Cluster from SDDC & select the required Overlay Transport Zone.

5. Once deployed, add the required VLAN Transport Zone
