This may affect reporting in vCenter UI for said events, (as vCenter does obtain datastore's unique identifier from same source: (VMkernel Observations (VOB)), and in turn it can affect other reporting tools as Aria for example.
ESXi 8.x
Issue is caused by incorrect permissions for ioctl and read operations by storage VOB correlators.
The fix for this issue is scheduled to be released in ESXi 8.0.3.0 P05.
