Issue/Introduction

  • The Validate the Single Sign-On (SSO) Ring Topology task Failed with below messages:

    Description: Validate the Single Sign-On (SSO) Ring Topology
    Error: Fetched topology with 3 nodes, contains nodes with invalid partner count, invalid ones (with unexpected respective partner counts) are: [<worload-vcenter-fqdn-1>, <worload-vcenter-fqdn-2>]

  • The below messages in /var/log/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/domainmanager.log

    2025-02-11T01:18:00.978+0000 ERROR [vcf_dm, 361a9cle8e364d89,4ab5] [c.v.e.s.o.model.error.ErrorFactory, dm-exec-14] [UKI769] SSO_RING_TOPOLOGY_INVALID_NODES Fetched topology with 3 nodes, contains nodes with invalid partner count, invalid ones (with unexpected respective partner counts) are: [<worload-vcenter-fqdn-1>, <worload-vcenter-fqdn-2>]

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation

Cause

Enhanced Linked Mode (ELM) in VMware Cloud Foundation instance is configured by using a ring topology. If the ring topology is corrupted the task to verify SSO will fail.
Confirm that the Enhanced Linked Mode ring topology if corrupted through the following command in VI Worload vCenter Server:
/usr/lib/vmware-vmafd/bin/dir-cli nodes list

Resolution

Contact VMware Support for additional support and to verify the SSO Topology.
