Changing the network teaming failback delay (TeamPolicyUpDelay) is not working as expected on the ESXi hosts when the VDS has DVPGs with Beacon Probing enabled

Issue/Introduction

• Setting the failback delay to any other value does not work
• Already followed KB article to setup NIC failback
• still the failback delay does not work as expected
• settings may not work as expected when the VDS has DVPGs with Beacon Probing enabled

Environment

ESXi 8.x
vCenter 8.x
NSX-T 4.x

Cause

Beacon probing is enabled on some DVPGs in the same VDS, which is interfering with the TeamPolicyUpDelay settings

Resolution

Permanent fix will be released on future version


Workaround:

• Disable beacon probing on all DVPGs in the host switch and use Link status only
• TeamPolicyUpDelay value should work as expected after applying the changes
