We upgrade agents thru Agent Manager. This worked well for most agents. But got error below for a few agents:at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(SSLSocketImpl.java:1387)
Component: Agent Manager
Release: ALL
The error indicates that the initial ssl connect failed, and it should be caused by Windows server firewall or security settings. And the Windows server admin and/or network expert should be involved.
Here are the diagnosis steps from the agent server:
- Ping Agent Manager host or tracert to Agent Manager host: this can check if there is a connection;
- Open a browser and enter the Agent Manager address & port with https: this can check if there is any ssl related problems.
Note: For the agent upgrade function thru WAM, the agent manager needs to communicate directly with the agent server. This function doesn't go thru ESP (as the scheduling manager) and the agent thru AFM (like communication between ESP and agent). Therefore the Windows server should allow the access from the Agent Manager.
