Aria Operations for Logs newly added worker node shows disconnected

Issue/Introduction

After adding a new worker node to the cluster, this new worker node shows "Disconnected".

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8.16 and above

Cause

The Cassandra service on this node is not running as this node cannot be discovered by the other nodes in the cluster when executing nodetool-no-pass status.

 

Resolution

Workaround:

1. Remove the problematic worker node from the cluster by following Remove a Worker Node from a VMware Aria Operations for Logs Cluster.

2. Delete the above problematic worker node from the vCenter.

3. Upgrade the remaining nodes to the latest version by following Upgrading VMware Aria Operations for Logs.

4. Deploy and add the new node with the latest version by following Add a Worker Node to a VMware Aria Operations for Logs Cluster.
