Issue/Introduction

CONDUIT service stops alert notification email is sent out every 7 min even though the frequency is set to 1 min.

Environment

SMG 10.8.x, 10.9.x

Resolution

The status check is done every 7 min by default setting of "Retrieve status every (minutes)" in Advanced Attributes Control Center Settings.

As a result, the notification email is sent out every 7 min, not 1 min. If the frequency is less than the status check frequency, the alert is immediately sent following the status check. It works as per below.

  1. Status check first identifies a problem that CONDUIT service stops.
  2. Control Center sends an alert.
  3. Control Center waits until the alert frequency timer has expired. (1 minute)
  4. Control Center confirms the problem is still occurring at next status check (7 minute)
  5. Control Center sends the alert.

If the alert frequency is longer than the status check frequency, the alert is sent at the alert frequency if the most recent status check shows the problem.
