End-of-life for Symantec Critical Systems Protection (CSP)
Critical Systems Protection
Since our move to the Broadcom organization, Symantec has been streamlining our portfolio and consolidating our offerings to better serve and support customer efforts to protect their organizations. Therefore, Symantec Critical System Protection will reach End of Life according to the schedule covered in each section:
A: Customers can continue to use all products until their license subscription and support expires by the EOL date.
Customers can continue to use products with a perpetual license past the EOL date, but no support or content updates will be available.
There will be no support available after the EOL date.
Customers should plan to migrate to replacement product DCS before the EOL date.
A: We are consolidating our portfolio and focusing our investments on solutions that provide the most value to customers. Existing CSP product features will be available in the Data Center Security (DCS) product and your existing CSP agents will be able to communicate with the DCS Management Server and you will retain full protection on the deployed agents.
A: You can export their event data in .csv format. This includes audit logs which need to be retained for a longer period to meet compliance requirements established by your company, as well as device inventories, and other data types. Please retain full backup of your SCSPDB database so you can always reference your events with SQL query. If you have set up integrations through data forwarders to their own data storage solution/SIEM, they will be in control of the retention of this data.
A: Symantec strongly recommends planning and fully migrating over to Symantec Data Center Security solution as soon as possible before the EOL date, but we also recognize replacement of CSP agents can take some time. In these special cases please work with the Symantec Technical Support Team for guidance on how to manage CSP agents with DCS management Server.
You can reuse your CSP server-cert.ssl and restore it on your DCS Management Server post DCS Management server installation
Update agent-cert.ssl on all your CSP agents to allow communication with the new DCS Management Server. You can have one or more certificates in agent-cert.ssl so the agent can communicate either with Critical System Protection (CSP) Management Server or Data Center Security (DCS).
To allow successful registration and uninterrupted protection, existing CSP policies must be imported to the DCS Management Server including all the CSP NULL prevention policies prior to CSP agent redirection.
A: Yes, for continuous protection of your critical devices please plan your migration to DCS or Carbon Black App Control product before the CSP EOL date (February 28, 2026 ).
A: Please contact your sales representative, business partner for additional information or Technical Support for the steps and assistance.
