Unable to view or download bundles in SDDC Manager with error: "Retrieving all applicable bundles failed. Encountered fetching http://127.0.0.1/lcm/inventory/upgrades api - Target VCF version 5.x is lower than source VCF version 5.x"

Issue/Introduction

Bundle Management tab in SDDC Manager displays following error messages:

You may see the following errors if you attempt to upgrade a WLD: "Retrieving update patches bundles failed. Unable to retrieve aggregated LCM bundles: Error in getDomainBomVersion()."

WLD creation may fail when deploying vCenter at step 'Fetch product images'. 

Environment

VCF 5.x

Cause

Bundle availability is calculated for all domains and if an 'Upgrade Plan' for any WLD targets a lower version than the current WLD then this can break bundle availability. 

Resolution

Check all WLDs and cancel any 'Upgrade Plan' that targets any previous version.

 

Additional Information

This issue can be cause by a stale entries in the SDDC Manager database. If there are no outstanding  'Upgrade Plans' please engage Broadcom support for assistance.
