Issue/Introduction

The following error is displayed while creating a SpectroSERVER watch:

SPC-WCH-20072: This is a user defined error.

Environment

Spectrum: Any version

Cause

Possible reasons for the SPC-WCH-20072: This is a user defined error:

a) Incorrect Data Type selected, the attribute type is not Text String

b) Attribute supplied in the Expression tab is not a list type attribute (table) (the .# was added)

Resolution

Check the Attributes tab for Data Type:

Check the Attributes tab whether it is a list type attribute (table attribute).

a) Select the appropriate Data Type based on the Attributes tab's Type value:

b) Remove the .# as is is not a table attribute and change the Instance value to None.

Additional Information

The following error will be displayed if Instance value is set to All:

SPC-WCH-20054: Invalid Instance Specified. There are not list type attributes in the watch expression therefore the instance specified should be None.
