Issue/Introduction

Looking at the hotfix (APM10.8.0-HF07) readme,  the instructions say that Java 11 is mandatory for this hotfix. Attempted to install APM10.8.0.64SP1 hotfix 4 but had to back it out because of the Java 11 requirement. Was unable to get the workstation to launch after the java upgrade. The workstation is launched from a VDI where the users can not control the version of java installed. Can you provide a workaround that can be done with the MOM and EMs using JRE 8.

Resolution

We have reviewed the readme of APM10.8.0-HF07 and it seems to indicate that this HOTFIX will upgrade the JRE to 11 on all manager side components. This includes Enterprise Manager (MOM/collector), WebView, and Workstation.

So, you will need to install this same HOTFIX on client workstation to connect to the Enterprise Manager.

If the users are using Webstart workstation, then you will require to have JRE 11. If it is not possible, another option would be to use the WebView which does not require any JRE.

Presently, JRE 8 is not supported with this HOTFIX.
