A review of the SARSTC logs shows that the following messages were received during collection of a sysout:
$HASP708 <VIEWDB> SYS00nnn OPEN ERROR - DATASET WAS NOT CLOSED RC=16
I/O ERROR READING DATA BUFFER
DSNAME=<dbhlq>.<jobname>.<job#>.<D0000nnn>.?
SARJSA05 SUBSYSTEM GET REQUEST FAILED - RPL FEEDBACK 080298
We understand that this may result in the report that was being collected having a status of "OPEN".
How do we identify if any reports have an OPEN status in VIEW?
View, z/OS, status, of reports, sysouts, open, after, $HASP7080, SARJSA05, ERROR, DATASET, NOT, CLOSED, I/O, READING, DATA, BUFFER, subsystem, get, failed, request, 080298, 0c0204, LOC, field, filter, sysout, selection, list, screen, panel
Collection of a dataset from JES that was not closed properly.
- To determine if you have any OPEN reports in the database, you can use the FILTER for the LOC field shown on the View Sysout Selection List screen.
Example before filtering:
CA View ALL --------------- Sysout Selection List ----------------------------
Command ===> Scroll ===> CSR
Sel Sysout ID Arch Date Time Loc Lines Pages
==> * * * * * *
-QTRLY-REGION=EAST 09/06/2024 10:15 DISK 198 5
Example after filtering the LOC field for OPEN reports - Result is no reports in OPEN status, since no reports are listed:
CA View ALL --------------- Sysout Selection List ---------- No sysout selected
Command ===> Scroll ===> CSR
Sel Sysout ID Arch Date Time Loc Lines Pages
==> * * * OPEN * *

If a View database does have reports in OPEN status, the resulting Sysout Selection List screen would look similar to the following:
CA View ALL --------------- Sysout Selection List -----------------------------
Command ===> Scroll ===> CSR
Sel Sysout ID Arch Date Time Loc Lines Pages
==> * * * OPEN * *
