PacketShaper S-Series

Issue/Introduction

You want to use SNMP to monitor the memory usage and status of the PacketShaper appliance.

Resolution

The PacketShaper appliance does not have an OID for memory usage, so memory cannot be monitored through SNMP. To monitor memory on a PacketShaper you must use the sys mem command from the command line.

To automate the sys mem command, you can do command scheduling to run the 'sys mem' command at different times and send the output via email (Please see PacketGuide documentation for more details).
