Issue/Introduction

Issue:

Users encounter the following error when attempting login to the CA 7 Webclient browser:

ECN70009:  Unable to open connection to server CA7:nnnn (CA7:nnnn)

 

Cause:

The CA7SRV task has not started.

User does not have read access to resource key CA7SRVR.ACCESS and therefore cannot use the CA 7 Web Client to interface with CA 7.

Note:  Multiple causes can generate this error.  Through the TCP/IP network, a CA7 Web Client user enters the host name and port number to connect to CA7SRV.  This entry starts the session with CA7SRV.  Once authenticated to use CA7SRV, the users can request to see a CA 7 Web Client view or CA 7 information on the mainframe.

 

Resolution:

Ensure the CA7SRV task is running and users has security access.
