Issue/Introduction

Issue:

When running the CAIRIM (CAS9) process for CA Datacom version 14.0, the process for one of the sets of control statements ends with an Init error and RC=0008, and displays a message about SYNTAX ERROR(H):

CAS9115I - Input: PRODUCT(CADATACOM) VERSION(BD14) INIT(DBCR4PR) LOADLIB(…)
DB90150I - DATACOM DBCR4PR  2011/03/18-1055 14.0

DB90152E - DATACOM PARM SYNTAX ERROR (H)
DB90153E - DATACOM INITIALIZATION FAILED
CAS9140E - Init error: CADATACOM            Ver BD14, Init routine RC=0008
CAS9115I - Input: PRODUCT(CADATACOM) VERSION(BD14) INIT(DBCR4PR) LOADLIB(…)
DB90150I - DATACOM DBCR4PR  2011/03/18-1055 14.0
DB90154I - DATACOM DBPCSPR  2013/04/19-1254 14.0 RO56818
DB90151I - DATACOM INITIALIZATION SUCCESSFUL
CAS9130I - Module DBCR4PR  complete, RC=00

Environment:

This applies to CA Datacom/AD and CA Datacom/DB at version 14.0.

Cause:

In version 14.0, the initialization process now loads two different Program Call modules to handle cross-memory communication with applications. These two modules are called DBPCCPR and DBPCSPR, and are loaded based on the keywords, PCC= and PCS=, respectively.

If the wrong keyword is used for a module, i.e., if PCC=DBPCSPR or PCS=DBPCCPR, the initialization will fail and produce this SYNTAX ERROR (H).

Resolution:

Review the two sets of control statements to be sure that the PARM= value has PCC=DBPCCPR and also PCS=DBPCSPR.

As always, please contact CA Technologies support for CA Datacom if you have further questions.
