Inventory Sync of Aria Automation Fails on Aria Suite Lifecyle with Error Code: LCMVRAVACONFIG590024

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Aria Automation 8.x inventory sync fails on Aria Suite Lifecycle
• The following error message is observed in the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI

  • Error Code: LCMVRAVACONFIG590024
    VMware Aria Automation hostname is not valid or unable to run the product specific commands via SSH on the host. Check if VMware Aria Automation is up and running.

• In /var/log/vrslcm/vmware.vrslcm.log we see below logs which point to issue with sfcbd service not running

Cause

This error can occur if the sfcbd service on the Aria Automation appliance is not running properly, even if systemctl status vami-sfcb.service indicates that it is. This can lead to unexpected behavior and prevent Aria Suite Lifecycle from successfully communicating with Aria Automation.

Resolution

• Verify sfcbd Service Status:

  • Execute the following command on the Aria Automation appliance:
    • vamicli version --appliance
  • If the command fails with an "Internal error" message, it indicates that sfcbd is not functioning correctly.

• Restart sfcbd Service:

  • Execute the following command on the Aria Automation appliance:
    • systemctl restart vami-sfcb.service

• Retry Inventory Sync:

  • Once the sfcbd service has been restarted, re-initiate the VRSLCM inventory sync.

NOTE- There could be instances where vami-sfcb status could be showing as running, Restart the services anyway
