Login to vRSLCM using domain account fails with {"code":401,"description":"Full authentication is required to access this resource"}

Issue/Introduction

After entering your domain credentials in vRSLCM login page you are redirected to browser error page displaying  {"code":401,"description":"Full authentication is required to access this resource"}

VMware Identity Manager was installed recently.

In /var/log/vrlcm/vmware_vrlcm.log file you see errors similar to:
INFO [http-nio-8080-exec-6] o.a.h.i.e.RetryExec - -- I/O exception (org.bouncycastle.tls.TlsFatalAlert) caught when processing request to {s}->https://<VIDMFQDN.DOMAIN>:443: certificate_unknown(46)

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

This issue is caused when vIDM is deployed and user is logging in to vRSLCM using "Identity Manager User" account.

Resolution

Access LCM via logging in to Workspace One using domain account and choosing the vRSLCM catalog tile.
