RELINKED to the existing object message in Workpoint

Issue/Introduction

When importing a workflow from production to a lower environment we see the message:

"Object referencing Script XXX:WPDS "XXXXX" Will be RELINED to the existing object ID:WPDS 'field name'"

Cause

This is caused by the reference ID of the workflow being imported shared an ID with an existing workflow in the other environment.  This would also occur if you have a production workflow of the same name in the lower environment and you were importing it back into the lower env for testing. 

 

Resolution

1. You can delete the existing duplicate workflow in the lower environment if it is no longer needed in order to import the new version of the workflow from production fresh.

2.  If you can not overwrite the existing workflow you can rename the workflow.  Open the Workflow and right click in the designer.  Go to properties and give it a new name.  Once complete you can import again under the new name.  Now you will have two versions of the same workflow with different names but this might be needed for different types of testing.
