Getting alert on the ESXi host " smartpqi01: pqisrc_heartbeat_timer_handler:0170: Handler called early"

Issue/Introduction

Randomly on most of the ESXi host the Alarm appears, For HPE driver 

Environment

ESXi host 7.x.x

ESXi host 8.x.x

Cause

This occurs when microchip has logged it as an error, Since the driver won’t expect two heartbeat handlers within 10s. In such cases, driver will schedule the next heartbeat handler without checking for the heartbeat counter, so that there won’t be false lockup. 

 

Resolution

To reach out to the HPE vendor if we cannot  ignore/disable  the alarm.
