Issue/Introduction

When deleting a Virtual Machine (VM) from an Anti-affinity rule on Storage DRS (SDRS), users have observed that a random VM is deleted instead of the one intended. This issue has been identified as a bug in the Web User Interface (WebUI).

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.0

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

Cause

The WebUI send  the incorrect  managed object identifier (moid) of the VM that was selected in the "Edit Storage DRS Rule" modal.

Resolution

Broadcom is aware of this issue and a fix will be implemented in a future  8.0x release

Additional Information

As a workaround, users can use PowerCLI or the API to delete VMs from the SDRS Anti-affinity rule.
