When using the Notify User object in the Web VPM, one of the following issues occurs when browsing HTTPS sites:
This issue occurs because the Web VPM requires cookies from the HTTPS site to notify users but the VPM does not receive the cookies because the HTTPS site secures them. Without SSL interception enabled and the virtual notify URL set to https://notify.bluecoat.com, the VPM cannot access secure cookies when the user is browsing HTTPS sites.
If SSL interception is not enabled and the virtual notify URL is set to https://notify.bluecoat.com, users do not receive the notification prompt when browsing HTTPS sites.
If SSL interception is enabled and the virtual notify URL is not set to https://notify.bluecoat.com, users receive a 404 error page instead of the notification page when they click Notify.
Enable SSL interception and, in the Notify User object, set the Virtual notify URL to https://notify.bluecoat.com. These configurations ensure a better browsing experience for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge browsers.
