Password policies and impact on UIM and NetOps

Issue/Introduction

I have some doubts regarding UIM and Netops password policy, i was consuming the documentation but still have questions.

1. Would changing the passwords for local administrator users in UIM and NetOps cause any impact on the functionality or operation of these tools?

2. What are the password policies currently enforced by the UIM platform? Additionally, are these parameters configurable? If so, could you please provide detailed steps or documentation on how to modify them?

3. if i have ldap  integraded with UIM does the default password policy of UIM change?

Resolution

1. Would changing the passwords for local administrator users in UIM and NetOps cause any impact on the functionality or operation of these tools?

UIM/NetOps - Password policy/changes in UIM do not have any impact on NetOps and vice versa.

If you change the DX UIM administrator user password, using Security->User Administration in IM, you will need to share it with any UIM administrators that access the Infrastructure Manager (IM), Operator Console (OC), Admin Console (AC), and UIMAPI, so they can login as the UIM administrator.

2. What are the password policies currently enforced by the UIM platform?

We recommend that you configure your user accounts to follow your own internal policy.
