Issue/Introduction

Upgrade gateway from 11.0 to 11.1.1 looking for the lowest amount of steps 

Environment

Gateway 11.x

Resolution

If you are not doing any testing after Gateway update 11.0 to 11.1 then you can skip the SSG DB update between 11.0 to 11.1  NOTE Gateway will not start until the last step, where you update the database 

Make sure the monthly platform patch is at least 8-26  (Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v11.0-Debian-2024-08-26) for OS platform update 

Step 1.Install Debian12 OS platform patch (Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_v11.1.00-Debian-17707.L7P)  - Updates to Debian 12  - REBOOT

      File to Use:

      Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_v11.1.00-Debian-17707.L7P

Step2.Update to Gateway from 11.0 to 11.1  “Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.00-17707.L7P”

      Apply the GW 11.1 Gateway Patch (Debian) (for example, 1.00-17707.L7P) using the Patch Management System (PMS).  - (reboot)

      File to Use: Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.00-17707.L7P

Step3.Upgrade PMS on GW11.1

      Gateway 11.1 needs to update PMS:  Update PMS Patch v2.0 (Layer7_API_PMS_Debian_v2.0.0-20240715115049.L7P)

      Reboot required.

      File to Use: Layer7_API_PMS_Debian_v2.0.0-20240715115049.L7P

Step4.Upgrade Debian12 on GW11.1

      Install the Debian12 latest platform patch (example Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v11.1-Debian-2024-12-16.L7P)

      Reboot required.

      File to Use:

      Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_64bit_v11.1-Debian-2024-12-16.L7P

Step5.Upgrade from GW11.1 to GW11.1.1

      Install Gateway 11.1.1 patch (Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.1-18484.L7P)

      Reboot required.

      File to Use: Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.1-18484.L7P

Step6.Upgrade database from GW11.0 to GW11.1.1 -   Gateway up and running 

 

Gateway Database Upgrader.

Enter 'quit' to exit at any time.

Database upgrade is required.

 Software version : 11.1.1

 Database version : 11.0.00

Perform upgrade? [No]: yes
