Issue/Introduction

Portgroup link down after NSX-V 6.4.12 removal. The virtual machine connected to the port group got disconnected. 

Environment

VMware ESXi 7.0.3 build-21053776
NSX-V 6.4.12

Cause

Stale NSX V entries associated with dvport causes the problem

Following 3 properties should not be there

Output of net-dvs -l 

 XXXX
                com.vmware.net.vdr.dvptracking = %01 ,  propType = CONFIG 
                com.vmware.net.vxlan.udpport = 0x12.b5
                        propType = CONFIG POLICY 
                com.vmware.netoverlay.layer0 = 0x76.78.6c.61.6e
                        propType = CONFIG POLICY 
        XXXX

 

 

Resolution

VMware engineering has created a script to purge the stale NSX v entries from the dvswitch.
