Issue/Introduction

  • Tenants using a guest OS linked to a vSAN file services file share experience occasional timeouts to the share.
  • The following messages are logged at vdfsd-server.log

2024-12-12T09:30:40.322Z|f-2-000000043|ADM_SLOW: TupleCacheAdmCtrlMgr: request waited 7.0 sec for numUnits=4190544

Environment

vSAN 7.0

Cause

  • The txn flush logic in VDFS experiences high latency
  • This in turn causes the timeouts at the guest OS level

Resolution

  • This is a known issue and Broadcom engineering is working to fix it in later versions

Workaround

  • Split the workload to multiple NFS shares. If the issue persists please open a Support Case with Broadcom Support
